My name is Jason Hatfield and I'm a photographer currently based in Denver, CO, originally from Grand Rapids, Ohio. I have been interested in photography in a small way since I was a child and became more interested in High School. My first step towards learning more about photography started with the purchase of my first SLR, a Pentax ZX-M in the spring of 2002. After teaching myself how to use an all manual camera I then got the perfect opportunity to ignite my love of landscape photography; a 3 week trip to Alaska with my family that summer. I traveled with two lenses, a 50mm and 70-300mm zoom that allowed me to explore the natural beauty of Alaska through the camera. Later that year I took a black & white photography course in high school where I developed a friendship with my wife-to-be Megan. Through that course I learned the processes of the darkroom, an understanding of luminosity photography, and a history of the art.

The following year I moved to Prescott, Arizona where I attended college for the next two years. Despite being in a great photographic location like Arizona I was very busy my first year of school and had little time to spend on photography. While attending school digital photography started to become more popular and the technology supporting it started to become more advanced. I bought my first digital camera, a HP R707 point & shoot , in the summer of 2004 back home on summer break. For the next two years I developed a passion for digital photography through the use of point & shoot cameras.

I moved to Cincinnati in 2005 and where I purchased my first DSLR, a Nikon D200, in January of 2006. Photography became a serious hobby for me and I continued to strive to learn all I could about photography. I then started my photography business focusing on portraits and weddings soon after. I married my wife Megan in August of that year and started working at a Portrait Studio in Northern Kentucky where I further developed my portrait skills and learned about studio management. After that experience I realized my greatest interest was in landscape photography. Since then I have been pursuing my passion for landscape and other photography in my free time. I have captured what I feel are many great images with my time spent photographing, but like most photographers I know there is still much more to learn. I am grateful to share my art with you through this website, I hope enjoy viewing it as well.
